Colorado Bound

Okay, so I know this is a horse blog but I am having a hard time focusing on anything besides my trip to Colorado this weekend! I have been so incredibly busy with work the past few weeks that a weekend getaway is MUCH needed. Real estate is usually slow over the holidays and picks back up in January. Well this year it picked up, literally January 2nd! The whole past month has been a bit of a whirlwind of appointments, contracts, closing, etc., etc. I feel like I have barely had time to breathe. I am ready for a weekend away. Although I am sure I will have to answer some emails here and there, I am going to try to unplug as much as possible (except for Instagram, of course).

A couple of friends and I are going to Keystone. We will ski Saturday, and play in the snow as much as possible. This will be the second time in my life that I will have seen real snow. It sometimes snows here, but melts when it hits the ground. I am very excited to see real winter, and to be in the mountains. Apart from horses, traveling is my other love. Even if it is for a short time, I love going somewhere new. I have been to Keystone once before, and to other places in Colorado, but snow and mountains is a whole new world compared to where I live in Texas. I am also excited ski again for the first time in over a decade… It should be interesting. Hopefully my horse riding muscles will serve me well. This weekend will be quite the adventure!

I had better get back to packing, but I will write about the trip when I return if y’all do not mind me straying from horse posts 😉 Also, I will likely be blowing up Instagram with mountain pictures (as long as my phone is working) so feel free to check out my page @laurelashtonw.
