Well 2015 sure flew by! I can’t believe that it is December 31st! 2015 was a good year, but I definitely had many ups and downs – especially in my equestrian life. Even though we had some hard times, Chance and I, we have made a ton of progress. He is not the same horse he was a year ago, and I am definitely not the same rider. We work together, rather than against each other; and we are finally starting to really trust each other. I am very confident that 2016 will be a good year for us!
My biggest goal for the coming year is to horse show! Horse shows have not quite come together for Chance and I. I get nervous, he gets nervous, I make him more nervous, he makes me more nervous and things just spiral out of control. So back in the summer, I decided to take a break from showing. My trainer, vet, and I are also fairly certain he has an ulcer that flairs up when he is stressed; so I put him a supplement and wanted to give him time to heal. He has been doing so much better. He is still fiery, as always, but he doesn’t have the sourness he had this summer; and even on his wilder days, he is not nearly as aggressive. As long as the weather is not too bad in January and February, we should start our show year soon. My trainer is going to show him for me the first couple of times, and I think that will really help. He needs to go in the ring and have a couple of good rounds, and I need to see him do it. Then, we should be good to go. 🙂
Another goal I have is to blog more!! I absolutely love sharing my experiences and advice with you all, and I really want to get more consistent with it!
All in all, I plan to just keep moving forward. With riding, blogging, and every other area of my life. Even the tiniest bit a progress each day can make a huge difference over the course of a year. Chance and I are living proof.
I hope you all have wonderful New Year’s Eve celebrations, and I wish you the best of luck in 2016!
Cool! I like the blog 🙂
