How An Equestrian began…

I had the idea to start a blog for quite some time before I started An Equestrian. I wanted to write training, showing, and general horse advice for other riders. However, at the time I felt completely inadequate to do so. I wasn’t competing very much, I only had one horse that I had continuous struggles with, and I thought “who would care to read about my experiences?” One day though, out of boredom, I created a WordPress account and I just started writing. I soon found that people did want to read about my experiences with horses, and even about my struggles. People related to me. I do write equestrian advice, but I also write a lot about my own thoughts and personal experiences with the sport: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Being an equestrian is so much more than ribbons and fence height, and I think writing about my life with horses really helped me to see that.

Some Advice to New Bloggers…

Just start writing.

Wherever you are, just start. Write about what you love. Write about what you feel. Don’t worry about gaining followers and likes. If you are true to yourself in your writing, the right people will come.
