It has just rained and rained and rained. There has been so much flooding in the Houston area the past couple of weeks, and it is pouring outside as I write this. The good news is that we are out of the drought we have been in for the past several years. Between wildfires and flooding, Texas has had it rough. I just hope and pray that the rain lets up soon.
I managed to ride today between storms. Just a light hack, but hey it’s better than nothing! The footing was a little wet, but the hard rain this morning packed it down pretty well so it actually was not too sloppy. I dropped my stirrups for a bit as well. I was able to jump a couple of jumps yesterday, and Chance was great. Many people in the area will not be able to ride at all for a while. Horse shows are getting cancelled. Construction on the farm is put off another week at least. But at least we are high and dry! I am so thankful for that.
The rain will stop eventually, and the Texas summer will begin. It will soon be sunny, hot, and humid. Just maybe a little greener this year.
