Good grief, it has been a while since I’ve posted on here! Too long of a while, for sure! This year has brought a lot of change so far. I started going back to school, after five years off, which has kept me pretty busy. It has definitely been an adjustment getting used to balancing school, work, horses, fitness, and life in general! It has also been a bit daunting to go back, after all this time – and having dropped out in the past – but God always gives us the strength we need when we let him right?! I always love to start something new, as well!
Chance has been doing well. His body looks so much better. His booty has gotten rounder, and he’s finally started to gain a little muscle back along his top-line. He has also been acting more… well, himself. By that I mean, kind of obnoxious! I was grooming him a while ago, on a cold day, and I kept asking myself “why is he being so annoying?” He had been dancing around while I was grooming him, and a little jumpy while I let him graze. Then it dawned on me. He was acting how he used to always act on a cold day! For what seems like forever he had been pretty lethargic and dull. Now, he seems to have a little bit of his fire back. I have been waiting for some decent weather to try putting him back to work again. I was planning on last week, then this week, but there has been constant rain here – and not enough sunshine to dry things out. After a year off, he needs to go back with a consistent schedule and it has just not been possible lately.
I am chomping at the bit to get him going again, pun intended. 😉
I am pretty excited to see what the rest of this year holds, especially for my riding life! Getting Chance back to work (hopefully), and getting him a brother at some point this year are two of my goals. I am not quite sure how it will all work out, but I am hopeful that it will!
Anyway, I plan for you all to hear from me a lot more on here this year as I embark on this new adventure of going back to school and getting my riding life back on track!
