Lessons in Fence Building

It has been an exciting week as we have begun building fences (for horses) on the farm!

There is something so rewarding about doing it yourself. I’ll be honest, I thought my parents were nuts when they said we were going to build at least some of our fences ourselves, but now I get it. Doing the actual, physical work on something is so rewarding.

All of the work we’ve doing on this place has made it that much more special, and it’ll make having horses out here special. I think that much can be learned from manual labor. Hard work, for one. Also, being able to push through the fatigue and sore muscles that come from physical labor under the Texas sun shows you just what you’re made of.

It is one thing to have a farm, but to actually use your own hands to build it is like nothing else.
