“When you stop doing things for fun you might as well be dead”

~ Earnest Hemingway ~

Ah it has been a month since I last posted! Life has been a little crazy between work, a trip to Disney World, and keeping up with riding! And I have a pretty good feeling that things are going to get even crazier 😉 Honestly, I enjoy being busy; for my entire adult life I have always had many  things to keep up with at once. Riding has always been one of them; however, my devotion to it has never wavered. Most people grow out of their childhood passions, but  I never did! I have known many people that rode as kids, or through college that quit when they grew up because they did not have the time or money, etc., etc. I never understood that. Somehow I have always managed to ride no matter what life has thrown my way. When I could not afford to have a horse, I started catch riding and working for farms. I saved up enough to buy Chance a few years later. Somehow, I have always found a way to ride. Since I became a real estate agent last year, people have asked me if I “still have time to ride” now that I have a real job. My answer is always, “of course.” I make time. Yes, there are some days when I am unable to ride because of work – but they are few and far between, typically the result of something coming up at the last minute. During very busy weeks, I literally have no down time because I use my free hours to ride. I have worked until midnight, so that I could make it out to the barn the next morning with nothing hanging over my head. Like most Realtors, my schedule can be a little unpredictable but I manage somehow because I love to ride.

The point I am trying to make is that, if you love something – whether it is equestrian, or something else – find a way to do it! No matter how crazy life gets! I make a lot of sacrifices to keep up with my passion, and I am so glad I do. I have seen so many people give up on things that they loved because they were “too busy,” or “couldn’t afford it.” There is always a way!!! If you love something, do it! You will never regret it!
