This is the part of summer that just really starts to drag. Chance has been so lazy, which is never the worst thing but I am beginning to miss my wild child! The rain this week has cooled things down ever so slightly, but made the air much thicker.

I would love nothing more than to be lying on a beautiful beach somewhere, but I don’t think that will happen so I guess I will just have to be content with lying by a pond or pool this weekend! Building a farm makes vacationing a little tough.

But let’s be real, I’m not really the lie on the beach type anyway. I would probably be swimming or surfing!

Chance’s cut face is healing nicely, I don’t think it should scar too badly, and I am sure he will be back to his wild self as soon as he gets to a horse show next month. That is, if we actually get there! For now, I will just be happy to get the extra leg workout! Lazy yes, but he sure has been good. We are starting to finally maintain our pace around a course, so I am definitely excited about that. That is such an important aspect of a hunter round, and has always been something we struggle with. I think that each improvement, however slight, should be celebrated!
