Fitness isn’t magic. It’s not complicated. It’s WORK! It takes making the choice, each and every day, to do what is best for your body – and to push yourself to be better. There are no real shortcuts. There may be plenty of “quick fixes” out there, but the only way to truly get into good shape is to work for it! However, fitness is also attainable to just about anyone!!
I am naturally thin, but I am not naturally strong, fast, athletic, or flexible. I am these things because choose to do what it takes to be them, every day! I did not settle for being a frail little person, an unhealthy person, a slow runner, or a person barely able to touch her toes, I pushed myself past those things! Sometimes my body feels like a machine, for all it is able to do. I am strong for my size, and I live a very active lifestyle between horses and the farm with energy to spare at the end of the day. I have run races, with paces under 8 min/mile. I have overcome numerous health issues (including asthma, which used to make exercise tough), injuries, and wear and tear on my body from riding and falling off of horses. I will be 28 next month, yet I look and feel better than I did at 18!
I am not saying all of this to brag, I am saying this because fitness is attainable! It is possible to push through physical limitations, a busy life, or just about anything. Whatever hold you back from achieving the level of fitness you desire doesn’t have to (more often than not)! Make the choice today to start doing what it takes, and so long as you don’t give up, you will get there!
